There is much evidence supporting the efficacy of ACT in supporting clients with and ADHD brain style.

Join Clinical Psychologist, Emma Spencer, for an informative workshop designed to provide clinicians the knowledge and skills to support Adult ADHD clients.

The workshop will include didactic teaching as well as experiential activites to support skill development. As an intermediate level workshop, attendees should have prior knowledge and experience in working with the ACT model (hexaflex). The workshop will cover

  • Strengths and challenges of the ADHD brain style
  • Neuroaffirming practice in ACT terms
  • ACT case formulation and conceptualisation specific to the ADHD brain style
  • Applying the 6 core processes to support ADHDer’s
  • How to effectively teach mindfulness skills to ADHDer’s
  • Incorporating your client’s sensory profile into your ACT sessions
  • Supporting clients to address masking, procrastination, burnout
  • Practical committed action strategies to support and strengthen executive functioning

Emma will also make time for Q&A at the end of the workshop.

About the Workshop:

The seminar will be presented via a ZOOM platform at 7pm EST. A Zoom link will be provided.

Certificates of participation will be provided to all attendees who complete the active PD requirements and feedback questionnaire .

About the Presenter:

Emma is a Clinical Psychologist and passionate ACT therapist, who lives and works in Sydney Australia. She is the CEO of Spencer Health, a national health organisation with a highly regarded reputation for supporting neurodivergent clients and providing education and training for clinicians wishing to respectfully support clients with brain styles different from the typical. Although identifying as neurotypical herself, Emma is passionate about working with ADHDer’s, Autistic people and AuDHDers having supported both child and adult neurodivergent clients for 20 years. She is honoured to share her knowledge with clinicians interested in learning more about how apply ACT to support ADHD clients to live a “full, rich and meaningful life”.
