Following on from the success of this workshop within the CAMHS environment, Spencer Health are thrilled to be bringing our creative workshop to the general public!

In this 2 day, live workshop event participants will explore the fundamental components of engaging children in therapy sessions including:

  • Structure of sessions
  • Opening and closing rituals
  • Incorporating parents into learning
  • General guidelines of engaging children in therapy

Participants will also engage in experiential exercises covering activities to teach skills in:

  • Identifying Values
  • Goal Setting
  • Building srengths
  • Mindfulness
  • Emotion Regulation
  • Distress Tolerance
  • Discharge Planning

The overall aim of the workshop is to provide participants the opportunity to engage in experiential exercises and learn new techniques for delivering evidence based therapies that they may already be trained in, using creating approaches.

The training will count as 12 hours of PD and you will receive a certificate of attendance for your records. You will also receive multiple resources to take away with you for use in your practice.

Morning and afternoon tea will be provided. Please bring your lunch, or alternatively there are multiple food outlets nearby where you can purchase something delicious.

About Your Facilitator: Emma Spencer – Clinical Psychologist

Emma Spencer is a clinical psychologist who is trained in multiple therapeutic modalities including CBT, SFBT, ACT, DBT, Schema Therapy, EMDR and Art and Play Therapy. Emma has spent 21 years working with children and families, and is passionate about delivering therapy sessions that are creative and engaging to ensure their therapeutic impact. Emma is a dynamic and engaging facilitator who is passionate about supporting her peers and colleagues to feel confident delivering evidence-based therapies.
