About:

  • Are you a mental health professional or school counsellor working with children and teenagers?
  • Would you like to feel confident making changes with your young clients, in a time pressured setting?
  • Do you have existing knowledge of brief interventions but would like to know how to make it accessible to your clients?

Spencer Health are proud to be offering this one of a kind training, aimed at supporting health professionals and school counsellors the opportunity to up-skill in a therapeutic modality understood to have enormous benefits to its clients. Many health professionals work in environments where they may have as little as 1-3 sessions with their clients, and often feel frustrated about how to support them and make lasting changes. Solution Focussed Brief Therapy is an evidence-based approach to making positive changes in your client’s life, in a short-term, solutions focussed framework.

In this 2 day, live workshop event participants will:

  • Review/learn SFBT fundamental theory and skills
  • Learn the core skills of SFBT and how to present with children and adolescents
  • Observe facilitator demonstrations of skills in action
  • Participate in role plays to practice and consolidate skills

The overall aim of the workshop is to provide participants the skills, knowledge and confidence to deliver SFBT with their child and teen clients.

The training will count as 12 hours of PD and you will receive a certificate of attendance for your records. You will also receive multiple resources to take away with you for use in your practice.

There is no requisite to have learnt the skills of SFBT prior to attending.

Morning and afternoon tea will be provided. Please bring your lunch, or alternatively there are multiple food outlets nearby where you can purchase something delicious.
